Known for his super-natural abilities to predict the weather, Punxsutawney Phil emerges from the confines of his comfy home each year on Feb. 2 after a long winter’s nap as thousands of humans look on.
Ever since his first official journey to Gobbler’s Knob on this day back in 1887, Punxsutawney Phil has been predicting the weather. Weighing about 20 pounds and nearly 130 years old, Phil drinks a magical elixir each year to help him live an even longer life (even though granola bars are his food of choice.)
