Created by Jace Shoemaker-Galloway, this annual "holiday," observed on the last Saturday in June, celebrates those talented folks who are experts at servin' up the perfect cocktail concoction.
Bartender or Mixologist?
While the term "bartender" and "mixologist" are often used interchangeably, a bartender is typically a person who tends bar and serves a variety of drinks to thirsty customers while mixologist's practice the art of mixology. Mixologists not only master the basics of bartending, but also study the craft, understand mixtures and ingredients and create new concoctions that may become tomorrow's classic cocktails.
