While the origins are unknown, the first Monday in January is National Thank God It’s Monday Day, an annual occasion that celebrates, well, Monday. Serioulsy!
When it comes to working, many people can’t wait for the weekends. Every week, we count down the days until we finally get to punch out Friday afternoon. The beginning of the work week is not something most of us look forward to. In fact, many of us dread Mondays.
While gas prices continue to fall and the employment rate, stock market and the economy is on the upswing, perhaps we should celebrate National Thank God It’s Monday Day by being thankful - thankful for living in this great nation, having a roof over our heads, food in our belly and affordable health care. While it may not be the way we want to spend our day, having a job with a steady income is a blessing.
