Administrative Professionals Day

Today honors and recognizes the millions of hard working men and women who help run an office – secretaries or administrative professionals. It's Administrative Professionals Day, also referred to as Secretary's Day.
While the exact date changes from year to year, the annual event is observed on the Wednesday in the last full week of April as part of Administrative Professionals Week.

The President of the National Secretaries Association Mary Barrett, Dictaphone Corporation President C. King Woodbridge and Young & Rubicam Executive Harry F. Klemfuss, came up with the idea in an effort to encourage and inspire more women to become secretaries or administrative professionals due to a national shortage of office professionals. The first event was held in June 1952. In 2000, the name was changed and the date was moved to the last week of April........
