Happy Middle Name Pride Day: Famous People's Middle Names

Most people have one and some have more than one. Some are long and some are short. Some are rarely spoken unless you are in deep, deep trouble! Whether you like yours or not so much, today is all about that name many people avoid – middle names, that is. It’s Middle Name Pride Day (MNPD).

MNPD is actually part of the annual Celebrate Your Name Week (CYNW) celebration, which occurs during the first full week of March.Jerry Hill created the weeklong event back in 1997. While some celebrate MNPD on March 10th, others celebrate on the Friday of CYMW. Other name-inspired days include Nametag Day, Namesake Day, Name Fun Facts Day, Unique Names Day, Learn What Your Name Means Day and Genealogy Day.

Some parents select middle names in honor of that special relative, best friend or someone they admire. Other folks go for the more “unusual” middle name like a favorite flower, fruit, day of the week, month, color or even an inanimate object.
