International Pillow Fight Day: ‘Swingers’ attend free global pillow fight

If you are looking for something fun to do this weekend, go grab your pillow. A very special day of the year is here and people around the world are ready to celebrate. The first Saturday in April is International Pillow Fight Day, an annual event that encourages friendly pillow fights no matter where you live!

From Amsterdam and Atlanta to London and New York City, International Pillow Fight Day is sure to be a great big "hit!" From the very young to the very young-at-heart, thousands of people of all ages attend the free global event. “Swingers” attend peaceful pillow fights in more than 100 cities around the world where walloping a few friends or even a few strangers is highly recommended.

When is the last time you had a good, old-fashioned pillow fight? Whether it was with childhood friends or siblings, pillow fights were loads of fun! So what are you waiting for? Grab a few of your BFFs and head over to the nearest pillow fight location. It’s time to start swinging!

Please note - There are specific rules and guidelines for those who participate in the annual International Pillow Fight Day event. Soft, feather-free pillows are recommended. (The folks at PETA remind attendees to please leave the feathers where they belong – on the birds!) Be sure to remove your glasses and swing lightly. Please help with the clean-up once the event in your neck-of-the-woods is over.
