It's Clean Out Your Computer Day: Clean up that computer clutter

Feelin’ a little sluggish lately? Winter blues got you down? What about your computer? Have you noticed it’s taking forever to start up or shut down? Or what about all those programs? Are they taking an eternity to load? Have you ever considered putting your PC or laptop out of its misery? Well, today may just be your lucky day! It's Clean Out Your Computer Day. This annual “holiday,” observed on the second Monday in February, began in 2000 by the Institute of Business Technology.

You’ve been putting it off long enough – it’s time to clean out that computer! It’s time to take a good long look and get organized. Let’s start with your email. When is the last time you looked through your junk mail? When was the last time you went through your contact/address lists? Or how about your files, downloads and bookmarks? Today is the day to delete outdated, unused and duplicate files cluttering up your system. Uninstall programs you no longer need and clean out your cache. And how’s the desktop looking? Get rid of shortcuts you no longer use. And most importantly, don’t forget to back up your system!

By taking an hour or two out of your day today, your computer will run faster and more efficiently, saving you oodles of time and a whole lotta aggravation! Time’s a wastin!
