It's Viagra Day, an annual event that commemorates a top-selling prescription from Pfizer, Inc.
On March 27, 1998, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Sildenafil, commonly known as Viagra, the oral medication that is known worldwide for treating impotence, the inability to get or keep an erection. Viagra has had enormous success. The medication made about $1 billion in sales in its first year on the market! In 2010, Viagra had nearly $2 billion in sales. Other companies took note and similar drugs soon followed.
